6.8.2 Hire Cars
On occasions there may be a necessity to hire an additional car for staff transport. This
should be pre-booked, agreed with and paid through hockey office.
Nominated Drivers must have their full licence when collecting cars, together with
passport. The main driver may also be required to provide a Credit Card in his or her
name when collecting a vehicle.
Care should be taken that all automatic tolls are paid.
7.0 Insurance
• Manager’s should have a copy of Hockey Ireland Insurance policy (See Appendix
10). In the event of a serious injury the Hockey Ireland office should be notified as
soon as possible (See Appendix 10.1).
• Players should also be advised to consider personal travel and medical insurance in
addition to augment that of Hockey Ireland which is subject to a claim excess.
• Hockey Ireland Insurance policy only covers injuries and losses during activities
involved at training and competition for Ireland only. It does not cover injury at losses
involved with club or otherwise.
• All injuries and accidents MUST be recorded and a log kept (See Appendix 11).
• Any damage to HI equipment must be notified to the HI office.
8.0. COMMUNICATION
8.1 Codes and Regulations
All communication must be in compliance with Hockey Ireland Code of Ethics and Code of
Conduct. During EHF/FIH Tournament competition regulations Federation (EHF) and World
Governing (FIH) codes apply. For Olympics – Olympic Council of Ireland and International
Olympic Committee codes also apply.
8.2 Staff
Staff should regularly communicate with each other through manager and head coach and
with other coaches and staff for information exchange and good practice.
8.2 Office & High Performance
The manager and coach should feel free to contact the Hockey Ireland office, Performance
Director or Chair of High Performance working group on any issue of which they are in doubt
or feel they need guidance or advice.
8.3 Players and Parents
