3.4 Tournament Expenditure
• Please obtain a stamped rooming list for your team whenever you are away on a trip.
(See Appendix 5)
• Please give notice if you require a float for major tournaments abroad
• Please keep a tracker and receipts for all expenditure
• Please use a receipt book for non-receipted expenses.
3.5 Fundraising
Please inform Hockey Ireland of any plans for fundraising. We will endeavour to support
your fundraising efforts as soon as we have the necessary information.
It has been agreed by th HI Board that two (one boys, one girls) Fundraising and
Sponsorship groups are set up by the HPD/HP Board Member to ensure fundraising events
are co-ordinated and we utilise parent contacts in reaching out to sponsors. This group will
be tasked with reaching an agreed (with HPD/HPWG) target for fundraising for each squad
and allows for efforts to be joined up and coordinated (to prevent lots of different events to
be underway at the same time).
3.6 Sponsorship
Sponsorship is an important part of JAG programmes and is always warmly welcomed. We
would encourage managers to recognise that there is no amount deemed too small and all
support is appreciated. However, it is important to acknowledge that once we enter a
relationship with the sponsor we have a responsibility to meet the requirements agreed upon
and approved by HI. Please see the points below as guidelines
3.6.1 Please inform Hockey Ireland if you feel you have any leads for sponsors
3.6.2 Please do not enter into any sponsorship agreement without first talking to
Hockey Ireland.
3.6.3 Please be aware we do have some restrictions on sponsorship, for example
companies associated with alcohol, fast food, gambling or any company that
might interfere with a current sponsors exclusivity rights.
3.6.4 Hockey Ireland has many assets and offerings for sponsorship of all sizes, it
is important to be aware that more money may be raised if we offer an
additional asset. For example, the value of an Under 16’s jersey sponsorship
can be enhanced if we also offer advertising on our website with social media
posts or pitch side branding, none of these things cost us a lot more money
but they could be added value for a potential sponsor.
3.7 Team Kit
All kit must coincide with Hockey Ireland’s sponsorship agreements.
Unfortunately, Hockey Ireland are not in a position to supply team kit to JAG players. Once
a squad has been announced managers will be provided with a range of sample sizes and a
price list for all items. Mandatory are match shirts, short/skorts and socks. However, it is
recommended that each team has a standard travelling / training kit also. The adidas kit
design will not change until 2020 so players can use their kit over a number of cycles.
