Abstrak: The pandemic has an impact on all important sectors in Indonesia,
including the economy. People are looking for ways to adjust to the new era of
economic waves due to the COVID-19 pandemic, forcing several sectors to
converge. If you usually only rely on offline (physical) activities, you are now
starting to dive into virtual (online) life and combine the two at the same time.
Even though it has entered a new normal life, post-pandemic and has begun to
reorganize the crippled economic sector, the impact of the pandemic can still be
felt because of the adjustments that still have to be made due to the convenience
of diving into the virtual world. virtual and offline (physical) culture mixes in
the economy so looking at market share it is still necessary to consider both.
From here, it is necessary to have a balanced media reporting role and help
accelerate the pace of the economy without denying the ethics of journalism.
social media as an option to spread balanced, fast and wide-reaching issues is
the right choice considering the large number of `people who use this platform`
to develop their family's economic sector due to its anonymous characteristics,
anyone can provide information so that no one else is detected as message
producers, consumers message and even distribution of the message.
Meanwhile, the mix of cyber/virtual and offline culture in the economic sector
has led to ethical changes in media. this is where the role of Islamic journalism
in educating the audience through information/messages that convey the truth,
educate, calm, informative and fair in religious life so that audiences who have
been psychologically affected can also be healed. Islamic journalism is also
expected to be able to boost the family's economy through useful messages and
sharing so that they are inspired to make products that are able to meet the needs
of the halal industry. Halal product content spread on Instagram social media
does not only come from netizens personally but also their products that have
been reviewed by journalists who carry Islamic principles so that economic
issues that are framed can be more clicked with halal products. Responding to
the challenge of rebuilding the economy, Islamic journalism comes with a new
concept in promoting halal products. one of them is by carrying out a
commercial mission of modification (commodification) while still paying
attention to Islamic and journalistic values.
