IMPLEMENTATION OF ECONOMIC GROWTH ON POVERTY
PRESENTATION WITH INFLATION AS A MEDIATION VARIABLE IN
EAST INDONESIA REGION

Abstrak: National development is essentially very necessary in advancing the
welfare of the Indonesian people in general. The national development carried
out must be fully felt for the people and the entire territory of the country as
stated in the preamble of the 1945 Constitution, paragraph IV, which means
protecting the entire Indonesian nation and the entire homeland of Indonesia,
promoting public welfare, educating the nation's life, and participating in
carrying out world order. based on independence, eternal peace and social
justice for all Indonesian people. In order to realize the goals of national
development, it is necessary to have a development economy in order to solve
economic problems in the country. This research was conducted to determine
the effect of economic growth on the percentage of poverty directly, the effect
of economic growth on inflation directly, the direct influence of inflation on the
percentage of poverty and the indirect effect on the percentage of poverty
through inflation as a mediating variable. This research uses a quantitative
approach with secondary data published by BPS Indonesia. The sample in this
study were 128 cities / regencies from 189 populations in KTI for the period
2016-2020. As for the analytical method that the researcher uses is the fitting
program model approach which functions to analyze the effect directly between
the independent variables on the dependent and the indirect variables between
the independent and dependent variables through the mediating variable. The
results of this study indicate 4 research results, those are; Economic growth has
a negative and significant effect on the percentage of poverty, economic growth
has a negative and significant effect on inflation, inflation has a positive and
significant effect on the percentage of poverty, economic growth has a negative
and significant effect on poverty through inflation as a mediating variable.
