INSTALLATION AND STARTUP
Chapter 3 Getting Started
Installation Overview
Building Height Considerations
The following considerations will address how the carriage will be placed onto the rails. The procedure for installation
can be found in the installation section of this manual. As stated before, you will need 2 forklifts to complete the
installation.
• The minimum height required for the FressStyler® to operate is 140’’. The ideal height of the bay would be
the height at which the head beams can be raised to the specified distance of 131’’ from the bottom of the
head beam to the floor. This height is found by measuring the height from the top of the forks on the forklift to
the highest point on the forklift mast and adding the 131’’. If this condition is not met, then the forks will need
to be flipped. If the forks need to be flipped, then the head beams and rails need to be lifted up to 48’’ and
clamped to the legs before flipping the forks.

• Additionally, the clearance from the entrance or exit door to where the carriage will be slid onto the rails may
be too small of a distance for the carriage to fit. It is important to note that the carriage can be placed onto the
rails at either the entrance or the exit of the bay. The diagram below explains the distance required to lift the
carriage onto the frame with the forklift at the entrance or exit of the bay. On the entrance side of the bay, the
length required from the end of the rails to the entrance wall is 61’’ plus the width of the forklift mast. On the
exit side, the length required is 61’’ plus the width to the furthest point on the exit arms.

The clearance between the top of the Pod and the
bottom of the Rail is approximately 1/8”. Keep this in Mast Width
mind when sliding the machine onto the Rails
• The easiest placement of the carriage onto the rails is to construct the frame, set the rail spacing from inside
to inside at 92-1/4’’ and then load the carriage onto the rails. This can only be done under special
circumstances. The door needs to be 12 feet wide and 11 feet high. This allows plenty of clearance for the
carriage to fit through the door. If the door is not 12 feet wide and there is room to pull the carriage in long
ways, spin the carriage, and then lift the carriage onto the rails then this process can be followed as well.
• If these conditions above can not be achieved, then the rails must be separated, and the carriage must be
raised up in between the rails.
• Higher ceilings make service and repair easier. Heaters, lights and other items need to be placed clear of
legs, head beams, and machine travel.
