Operation Overview
A 3HP close coupled end suction centrifugal pump, when connected to a 2” suction line with a foot
or flap valve, supplies the required N.P.S.H (net positive suction head).to feed the booster pump.
The reclaim water then runs through a 2” centrifugal separator and past a safety flow switch.
The separator has a continuous sediment purge system including a clear PVC sight gauge for
efficiency verification and adjustment.
A 2” brass ball valve and 2 oil-filled gauges prior to the booster pump act as a flow meter for simple
system calibration. The 10HP, 5 stage centrifugal booster pump will only come on when the safety
flow switch senses there is sufficient flow provided by the priming pump.
A third oil-filled gauge shows total system output pressure to the tunnel. Plumbing to the tunnel
should be 2” in size and split to 2 lines of 1-1/4” NPT prior to entering each manifold tube.
