EXHIBIT
The largest display of dinosaurs in America is returning
to Brookfield Zoo! From March 1 through Labor Day,
you’ll find more than 40 life-sized, animatronic re-creations of dinosaurs
that roamed the Earth millions of years ago—and they will also be
anatomically accurate.
They’ll include the 110-foot-long Argentinosaurus, which is the largest,
most accurate animatronic dinosaur ever built, said display creator Don
Lessem, CEO of Dino Don, Inc. Lessem has been digging, reconstructing,
writing about, and roboticizing dinosaurs for 30 years. He was advisor
to the movie Jurassic Park and excavator of some of the world’s largest
dinosaurs (including Argentinosaurus). He is also the author of 40 books
on dinosaurs.
“Dinosaurs ruled and shaped their world for 150 times longer than
man has,” said Lessem. “They did so in forms and sizes even more
varied than all of today’s mammals and birds, which are dinosaurs’
descendants.”
DINOS EVERYWHERE! 2021 will have a few surprises that
were not in last year’s exhibit. Lessum has enhanced some of the
robotic dinosaurs to make them even more lifelike. And you’ll have
fun searching for a dozen mini—19 inches long and 14 inches high—
Brachiosaurus hiding along the Dino Trail, next to HAMILL FAMILY
WILD ENCOUNTERS.
Don’t forget to take photos with your favorite dinosaurs and share
them on your social media channels with #brookfieldzoo.
