F or more than 60 years, since our original hospital
opened at Brookfield Zoo in 1952—the third in
any zoo in North America—the veterinary staff
have kept pace as innovators in the field of animal
care and teachers to future generations. Just
recently, the team at the hospital here ramped up
its efforts once more.
This past summer, we made an impressive
series of upgrades to our diagnostic imaging suite
and launched a radiology consulting service. And
with that, the Society has reinforced Brookfield
Zoo’s position as the top zoo for imaging
technology. The capabilities now available to
our veterinary staff help us provide the best care
possible for the animals at Brookfield Zoo and,
