afterwards. Swell time. There was a b.b. game, but we went to
show. Harold [younger brother] was in amateur hour. Did swell.
February 16. Went to 8:30 Mass. So did George. He came
over about 10:30. Stayed for dinner. Went home. Came back about
6:30. Played cards. Went down to Davison’s. George got mad at
me, said I acted like I didn’t want to go out with him. Gee, we
almost broke up. We argued about 3 hrs. He finally said he’d stop
it because [line completed in shorthand marks].
February 17. George wrote me a note and said he’d thought
it over and thought I ought to explain why I had acted that way
Sunday. I told him I wouldn’t tell him. He walked home from
school with me. We argued and argued. He left and said, “When
you decide to give me another date, let me know.” Gee, I thought
we were through forever, but he came over in the eve. We played
cards. He left early. Oh, gee, this is gettin’ awful!

February 18. George wrote me a note and said he still wanted
to know and he hated to think of it if I didn’t tell him. He waited
for me after Glee Club, but I didn’t walk home with him. He came
over, but I wasn’t home. He came over in eve. He and Jack. I helped
Jack with his French. Jack left at 10:20. George left at 10:30. He
didn’t tell me good-nite. I don’t think he even came to see me. He
just came because Jack came. I got Jack’s [Shumny] ring.

February 19. George came over. Wanted me to go to show,
but I had to study. We stayed home. Fooled around. Made up.
             Had a good time.

February 20. George and I went to see Captain Blood. Good
show. Went to Merrigan’s afterwards. Jack brought us home. Had
             fun!

February 21. George and I mad again. He came over and went
