EXPORT TO DWG

          Export to DWG

If you want to save your project in Revit, so that a collaborator working in AutoCAD can open it
and work on, the project must be exported to DWG.

Revit supports export to CAD (DWG and DXF), ACIS (SAT) and to Microstation (DGN).
DWG format is supported by AutoCAD 2010 and similar CAD applications.
DXF is an open format and is supported by many applications. A DXF file is a text file that
describes a 2D drawing. The text is not encrypted or compressed, so the file is usually quite
          large.

SAT used for recognition of Solids and "Solid Geometry" - often used for further processing in
          Inventor.

DGN can be read by Microstation.
If exported while in a 3D View, the full 3D model will be exported as Polymesh or ACIS solids,
and thus not as a 2D representation, in addition, all View settings will be ignored, including
          "Hidden Lines".
If a 3D View is to be exported to a 2D representation, the 3D model is drawn onto a sheet and
          this is exported.
The following should be considered before export:

Reduce the amount of data in the file
o Turn off all unnecessary information using Visibility / Graphics

o Customize the Crop Region or Section Box, so that no excess is included.
o Custom Detail Level - Set it to Coarse or Medium.
Create or associate a mapping file for managing layer naming. See next section.
