2017 FCI Racing European Championship, Alsónémedi, Hungary, September 1-2-3,
mixed race males/females
356 Sighthounds were registered, from 14 different countries. Sand track. Both the start
boxes and the lure machine made a lot of noise which definitively irritated some of the
dogs. The lure was automatically propelled along sensors on the rails but had to be
corrected manually on a regular basis. Throughout the whole weekend the lure was kept
very (too) close in front of the dogs. This system was imported from Australia. Results and

composition of the runs were almost live on the internet, a great advantage.
The European champion Ghanem, a brother of Ganoosh Areen, won both the racetrack
and lure coursing championships that year.
