2014 FCI Racing World Championship, Tampere, Finland, September 6-7, mixed race males/
females
Registered were 230 dogs (including 6 Sloughis) for this event on a sand track from 15 different
countries. For the first time there was a competitor from the USA, an Afghan Hound bitch. (She
became the new World Champion 2014; her brother, German owner, also became World
Champion). In the Sloughi final there were only Finnish Sloughis present. All new World
champions had to undergo a doping test. Communication was done in Finnish, English,
German, French, Swedish and Dutch. The timing equipment normally used for athletics
competitions had been borrowed by the club from the city of Tampere.
