2015 FCI Racing European Championship, Hünstetten, Germany, September 4-5-6
Almost perfectly organized championship on the well known sand track according to some
articles. 543 dogs, of which 30 (!) Sloughis, of 15 different breeds were registered from 14
different countries. One of the lure operatorss turns 18 years old, just a few days before the
event.
In the press there were comments to restrict the number of dogs to 6 per gender, 12 per
breed, like in lure coursing. 12 per gender (24 per breed) does not benefit the quality.
It was also recommended that the dogs run twice on time, after which the six fastest would
go through to the final. This was to prevent the dogs from running unnecessarily (sometimes
as many as four times). A different system was proposed for the Greyhounds. Each dog runs
once, after which the six fastest males go through to the A final, the next six to the B final, and
so on. Owners are given the option of choosing an optional intermediate run if, for example,

their dog has not been able to perform to its usual standard in its run. Initially rejected by the
CdL, this was fully accepted at the last championship in Gelsenkirchen.
