Present situation in Germany
There are 36 sighthound racing clubs and the number of active Sloughis is considerably
larger than in other countries: approximately 35 Sloughis are licensed there; the total
number of licences is approximately 1,500. In 2025, there were 31 racing competitions and
24 coursing competitions on the calendar.
In Belgium, there are five sighthound racing clubs, three with a permanent track and two
that only engage in coursing. As far as is known, there are no licensed Sloughis. This year,
2025, 21 racing competitions and 4 coursing competitions were held.
