Many years ago, my first judging appointment
was a nerve-wracking experience but a
very enjoyable one. To date I am qualified
to judge all breeds at championship level in
Group 2, Group 5 and some breeds in Group
1 (FCI). Over the years I have successfully
campaigned and titled many breeds across
the 10 FCI groups.
Our small kennel has gone from strength to
strength over the years. Although we don’t
produce constant litters, we have had great
success from the litters we have produced
over the years. I have imported dogs to
expand our gene pool and to strive to breed
the perfect Dobermann. Although there is
no perfect dog I will always aim for this goal.
For me they are, first and foremost, our pets
and companions, showing comes next as
not every dog we breed will make the show
ring (some pups are show potential nut no
one can predict the future). All our pups are
in fantastic homes where they enjoy all the
luxuries life has to offer and show people how
brilliant and loving our breed really is. I have
also gained some wonderful friends. Showing
is not for everyone, however, the lifelong
friends and travelling (even the 4am starts)
and spending quality time with my dogs and
family make it very worthwhile.
We are enormously proud to have achieved
Top Dobermann Kennel in Ireland in 2016,
2017, 2018 and 2019 with Top Dobermann
and Annual Champion in 2016, 2018, 2019
with Top Male in 2017
This year has been an extremely unfamiliar
one as coronavirus took over the world and
shows were all cancelled. I admit it is very
strange being at home at the weekends. I
want to wish everyone a safe and successful
return to the ring as and when is possible
(hopefully sooner rather than later).
