Statistics
Aims: To develop and extend mathematical and statistical knowledge, to confidently and
competently communicate mathematical and statistical ideas and to solve problems which
require several steps and integration of a variety of methods using the graphics calculator
and computer as tools.
Competencies: Problem Solving and Modelling; Communication (written and oral);
Mathematical and Statistical Technological Skills.
Pathways this course contributes towards: University courses where Level 3 Statistics will
be helpful eg Business, Commerce or Social Sciences.
Other essential information: A prerequisite is competency shown in Level 2 Mathematics
standards. There is an opportunity for subject endorsement. A graphics calculator eg Casio
fx-9750GII is required.
Leader of Learning: Mrs Costelloe
