Textiles Technology

Aims: In Textiles Technology, students learn to apply design thinking to address
a need towards constructing a textile product. They will gather information and develop
their product against the material properties through a series of steps. Practical skills
include pattern cutting, sewing and embellishment techniques.
Competencies: This subject aims to nurture practical students who can problem solve using
innovative thinking. Students will investigate and be influenced by human societal,
environmental, historical and technological factors. Students will become creators
of Fashion and Textile Technology, not just consumers.

Pathways this course contributes towards: This subject leads into Creative Industries,
