ON THE JOB
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
Bunkhouse is committed to helping you understand your job expectations and environment by providing an
orientation, formal training and reviews.
Orientation
Within your first 2 days of employment, you will complete all of the Bunkhouse required paperwork with your onsite
Human Resources representative. You will be issued certain materials (i.e. uniform, keys, laptop) and complete
paperwork specific to your position. The Human Resources representative will give you a general overview of
benefits, the review process, property-specific discounts, pay dates, and issue an Employee Handbook. Finally, you
will be given access to “The Last Days of the San José” to view. The “Last Days of the San José” is a documentary
created by Liz Lambert about the transformation of the San José Motel. The link and password are listed on the last
page of the handbook.
Your department manager will introduce you to your immediate co-workers and your work environment. You will be
issued training materials essential to your new position that include, but are not limited to, department training
documents and guest service training.
If you are employed at a hotel, the General Manager will take you on a property tour. The tour will expose you to
the different company departments, department managers and property staff. All General Managers will provide an
overview of the company’s history and culture.
Lastly, you may be expected to attend a Bunkhouse orientation and training session. You will be notified in advance
with possible dates and times.
