Healthcare Provider’s Verification
Bunkhouse reserves the right to request a doctor’s note if you are absent for more than two consecutive working
days within seven (7) days. Furthermore, the company may request medical documentation for you if you are more
frequently absent due to alleged medical reasons, where such a request is job-related and consistent with business
necessity.
If you believe you require periodic absences as a reasonable accommodation of a disability, please contact your
Manager or onsite HR representative.
TARDINESS
You are tardy any time you arrive more than seven (7) minutes but less than thirty (30) minutes late at your
workstation, or are not appropriately groomed, dressed, rested and ready to work at the beginning of your scheduled
shift. Please note that tardiness also includes returning late from breaks or meal periods. Also as stated in the
Absenteeism section, if you are thirty (30) minutes or more late for your scheduled shift, it will be considered
an absence and requires you to follow the reporting procedures for an absence and counted toward excessive
absenteeism.
Reporting Procedure
If you must be late for work, it is your responsibility to personally contact your supervisor prior to the beginning of
your scheduled work shift unless you are physically unable to do so. If you can’t call, have someone call for you.
Please note that reporting your tardiness does not necessarily excuse your tardiness; rather, it is a requirement.
Excessive Tardiness
Even if the tardies are reported, excessive tardiness will result in corrective action up to and including termination.
Examples of excessive tardiness include:
• 3 tardies in any 30-day period
• 5 tardies in any 3-month period
• 11 tardies in any 12-month period
It is important to remember that excessive absenteeism, excessive tardiness, and/ or failure to report your absence
or tardiness place a burden on other employees and may result in corrective action up to and including termination.
Also, note that while the above provides a basic framework for how absences and tardies will normally be treated,
the company reserves the right to depart from this framework and impose any discipline, including termination, it
deems appropriate at any point, depending on the circumstances.
VOTING
Bunkhouse encourages you to fulfill your civic responsibilities by voting in elections. Generally, the polls are open
for several hours in the morning and evening and we expect that you will be able to vote either before or after work
hours. However, if the polls are not open for two consecutive hours outside your shift, employees are permitted to
take up to two hours of paid time off during the work day to vote.
JURY DUTY
Bunkhouse encourages you satisfy your jury duty obligations when required. If you receive a jury duty summons,
show it to your immediate supervisor as soon as possible so that arrangements can be made to accommodate your
possible absence from work.
