Class C – Extinguish energized electrical equipment by using an extinguishing agent that is not capable of conducting
electrical currents. Carbon dioxide, ordinary (BC-rated) dry chemical and multipurpose dry chemical fire extinguishers
may be used to fight Class C fires. DO NOT USE WATER extinguishers on electrical equipment.

                If Trapped in a Room
                    • Place cloth material around/under door to prevent smoke from entering.
                    • Retreat. Close as many doors as possible between you and the fire.
                    • Be prepared to signal from window but DO NOT BREAK GLASS unless absolutely necessary (outside
                      smoke may be drawn in).
                If Caught in Smoke
                    • Drop to hands and knees and crawl or crouch low with head 30 to 36” above floor, watching the
base of the wall as you go. Hold your breath as much as possible; breathe shallowly through nose
using blouse or shirt as filter.

If Forced to Advance through Flames
                    • Hold your breath. Move quickly, covering head and hair. Keep head down and close eyes as often as
                      possible.

                Bomb Threat
                Staff Responsibilities
                  1. While still on the phone with the caller, alert someone else to notify a supervisor.
                  2. Keep the caller on the line as long as possible. Ask the caller to repeat the message. Record as much
                     information as possible.
                  3. If the caller does not indicate the location of the bomb or the time of possible detonation, ask the caller for
                     this information.
                  4. Pay particular attention to peculiar background noises such as motors running, background music, and any
other noise, which may give a clue as to where the call is being made.
                  5. Listen closely to the voice (male/female), voice quality (calm/excited), accents, and speech impediments.
                  6. Report this information immediately to your supervisor or their designee.
                  7. Dial 9-1-1 and report the incident. Follow the instructions provided by the Public Safety Service Officer.
                  8. Advise (verbally) that everyone discontinue walkie-talkie use as some bombs are detonated by walkie-talkie
                     frequency.
                  9. Do not instruct people to leave unless you have been given orders to do so. Police officers will consult with
staff when they arrive on the scene.
                  10. Fill out ATF Bomb Threat Checklist which is available in the main office

                Active Threat
When there is an Active Threat (e.g. shooter, armed or violent individual) in the workplace, each employee
must quickly determine the most reasonable way to protect their own life.

                Evacuate
                    • Have the escape route and plan in mind
                    • Leave your belongings behind (take keys, phone, etc. only if it doesn’t delay your escape)
                    • Keep hands visible
