Hide
                    • Hide in an area out of the active threat’s view
                    • Block entry to your hiding place and lock doors if possible
                    • Stay away from windows, doors where threat may see you from outside

                Take Action
                    • As a last resort and only when your life is in imminent danger
                    • Attempt to incapacitate the active threat
                    • Act with physical aggression and/or throw items at the active threat
                Call 9-1-1 when it is safe to do so and provide information
                    • Location of the active threat
                    • Physical description
                    • Number and type of weapon, if applicable
                    • Number of potential victims and their locations at the scene

                Medical/First Aid Emergency

                Staff Responsibilities
                  1. Visually survey the area – look for hazards; do not endanger yourself.
                  2. In the event of a serious injury or illness, immediately call 9-1-1. If you are unable to call Public Safety, direct
                    another staff member to do so. Provide any details you have at the time (location of victim, condition of victim,
                    breathing patterns, etc.).
                    • If you notice any jewelry with an inscription of medical information (usually around neck or wrist), bring it to
                      the dispatcher’s attention.
                  3. Coordinate a staff member to meet emergency personnel and escort them to the scene.
                  4. Give appropriate first aid until emergency personnel arrive.
                  5. Do not move the victim until emergency personnel arrive.
                  6. Provide any assistance necessary to emergency personnel when they begin treating the guest.
                First Aid Tips

                  1. Bleeding
                    a. Call 9-1-1 if a wound is moderate to serious.
                    b. If a wound is minor, do not administer the care yourself – allow the injured guest to apply their own care to
                      wounds.
                    c. Wearing protective gloves, press directly onto the wound with sterile gauze.
                    d. Maintain steady pressure for 5 to 15 minutes.
                    e. If bleeding is from an arm or leg, elevate that limb until emergency personnel arrive.

                  2. Burns - Chemical and Thermal
                    a. Call 9-1-1.
                    b. Immerse the burned area in cool water.
                    c. Cover the burn with dry bandage.
                    d. Keep victim quiet and comfortable until emergency personnel arrive.
