“Non-metabolic Operations” – The options in this group provide significant weight-loss without altering the physiology of
energy (fat) storage. Examples include the laparoscopic adjustable Gastric Bands (LapBand® and the Realize Band®) and
Neuromodulation (VBLOC®). They are considered non-metabolic options because they do not alter the body’s normal mechanisms
that occur when dieting. With bandings and with dieting, orexigenic hormones increase and anorexigenic hormones decrease.
Recent research indicates that each bariatric surgery works not only through the anatomical and mechanical changes from the
procedure itself, but through metabolic changes in the “gut hormones.” Numerous studies have examined pre-operative and post-
operative gut hormone levels after bariatric surgery.
A brief summary of hormonal changes after each bariatric procedure is provided: (Full Article Is Available ONLINE).

        Risks:

Mayo Clinic Staff say: As with any major surgery, gastric bypass and other weight-loss surgeries pose potential health risks,
Risks associated with the surgical procedure can include: (1) Excessive bleeding (2) Infection (3) Adverse reactions to anesthesia
        (4) Blood clots (5) Lung or breathing problems (6) Leaks in your gastrointestinal system (7) Death (rare).
Longer term risks and complications of weight-loss surgery vary depending on the type of surgery. They can include: (1) Bowel
obstruction (2) Dumping syndrome, causing diarrhea, nausea or vomiting (3) Gallstones (4) Hernias (5) Low blood sugar
(hypoglycemia) (6) Malnutrition (7) Stomach perforation (8) Ulcers (9) Vomiting (10) Death (rare).

        Costs & Insurance Programs:

One study shows that the average time from the point someone considers weight loss surgery to actually having the procedure is 3
years. A lot of time can be spent studying, reading and talking to post-op patients about their surgery.
The average cost of Gastric Bypass surgery is $23,000, the average cost of Lap Band is $14,500, and the average cost of Sleeve
Gastrectomy surgery is $14,900. So before getting too involved, spend time determining if your insurance will cover surgery.
Weight loss surgery is predominantly performed on middle to upper class patients. Most people considering weight loss surgery
cannot pay $20,000 to lose weight. But today, more than ever, insurance companies are starting to cover weight loss surgery.

Richard P. Rand, MD, FACS Seattle Plastic Surgeon says: If you have excess visceral fat (The Snake
Within), you need to lose weight - pure and simple. There is no cosmetic surgical procedure for you,
           just diet and exercise.

The above was offered AS A STARTING POINT when considering Bariatric Surgery.

Much additional study, research and CONSULTATION WITH YOUR DOCTORS IS NECESSARY. During this period which the above
suggests may be up to 3 years. You owe it to yourself to at least try Dr. Selby’s proven suggestion as shown below on every spread.

        THINGS TO CONSIDER:

        (1) You may not qualify for surgery (2) You may not afford surgery (3) You may regain your weight after surgery – 20% regain weight
        (4) It’s difficult to retrain yourself to subsist on 3-ounce meals and vitamin pills after surgery – 20% fail (5) Bariatric surgery is no
guarantee of success when all the after-effects are considered (6) Removing/Replacing healthy organs from service isn’t the solution
to SUGAR ADDICTION (7) 200,000 US bariatric operations/year – 100 million US obese people = 1 operation per 500 obese people.

          THE REALITY:

Nature’s Healthy Way: REDUCING PROCESSED SUGAR and Eating A FULL and HEALTHY meal EVERY DAY is FAR easier PORTION
CONTROL than expensive surgery removing/replacing parts of your internal organs (with a second surgery for sagging skin)
resulting in long term discomfort, vitamin pills, expensive medication . . . FOREVER – YOUR CHOICE – 90 Days Will Prove It.

By the way: Bariatric Surgery is typically not reversible – Neither is Nature’s Healthy Way – AFTER 90 DAYS + Feast Of Champions
