Bringing a BCATP Base Back to Life
         • Using drone and 3D footage we lay out the physical environment of the base, what it would look like in the
1940's, the hangars, the barracks, the classrooms, recreation halls to give us an idea of how the base
            functioned during wartime.

         • Time lapse sequence showing the construction of a training bases from empty farmers fields to completed
            functioning air base
         • Explaining life on the base at that time, and how the bases were created.

         • Build in interviews with veterans and historians to comment on the creation and function of the bases.

        Interactive Maps of BCATP Locations
Interactive maps showing the locations of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan bases across Canada.

Interactives will show the structure of the BCATP overall then by province. The user will go through layers
showing: Basic flight schools, advanced flight schools and crew training facilities.
Visuals will include photographs and archive footage. Commentary from historians and veterans discussing
        training on the bases.

        Influence of the BCATP

The interactive will follow the timeline of the Allied campaigns of the Second World War and the influence and
impacts of the BCATP on the operations of Allied Air Forces.
The interactive will present the timeline following the buildup of the Luftwaffe and its training program on one
side and the BCATP activities and the buildup of the Allied air forces to gain air supremacy on the other side.

Remembering: Stories Told By the Cenotaph
The cenotaphs across Canada can tell the stories of the fallen service members. The interactive will encourage
students in their local communities to seek out their local cenotaph and trace the names and history of the
individuals who sacrificed their lives. We will highlight fallen airforce personnel who sacrificed their lives in
operations overseas and also training here in Canada in the BCATP.
This interactive will be supplemented by a historian outlining research methods that students can use to trace
        the story behind the name.

        TEACHERS GUIDE AND LESSONS

Museum interpreters and historians from museums around the country and BCATP sites will guide teachers
