Message from the Governor
Tourism Authority of Thailand

Ever since its establishment in 1963, exactly 55 years ago, the Thai Hotels
Association (THA) and its members have played a crucial role in raising
the Thai travel and tourism industry to new heights.

Thailand’s hotel sector has been at the forefront of the decades’ long efforts
to make Thailand one of the world’s most desirable and population tourist
destinations. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has recognised
the role of the THA in upgrading standards, providing policy advice, and
maintaining the professionalism of licensed hotels in Thailand.
In 2018, Thailand is projecting an increase of 8 percent from tourism
revenue and 4 percent from international arrivals over the last year. The
Thai hotel sector will be a major player in helping us reach these targets.

the entire supply chain. They help us develop an economically healthy

and ecologically sustainable tourism industry as well as distribute income
Y more equitably nationwide.

Therefore, we look forward to working closely with the THA executive
MY committee and members. The evolution of the hotel sector will also
continue to help our campaigns to position Thailand as a ‘Preferred

Destination’. The elegant, award-winning boutique hotels and deluxe
CMY luxury resorts emerging all over the country have significantly enhanced
the diversity of accommodation to suit visitors of all demographic and

niche-market customer segments. Their superb levels of service have also
cemented Thailand’s global tourism brand image.
TAT would like to extend its sincere appreciation to the executive committee
and members of the THA for their many years of dedicated efforts in
promoting the Kingdom’s tourism industry. We look forward to many
more years of fruitful cooperation and partnership.
