Back Splice: Step 3

Lead one strand against the lay of the rope (the

direction of the twists of the strands). Go over
the next strand and under the third strand. Do
this with all three stands, making sure the

strands leave the crown at regular intervals, each
strand centered on approximately one-third of

the circumference of the rope.
