3. Busa Wangdue Goenpa Dorji Lingpa Monastic and Buddhist College and the
Lineage

Busa Wangdue Goenpa Dorji Lingpa Monastic and Buddhist College is located at Wangdue
Goenpa under Sephu block under Wangdue Phodrang District in Bhutan. It is the
monastic seat of the successive reincarnations of the Heart Son of the great treasure
reveller Terchen Dorji Lingpa. The lineage of the successive reincarnations has been
passed down from generations.

Busa Wangdue Goenpa Dorji Lingpa Monastery was built in the seventeen (17th) century.
The Heart Son of Dorji Lingpa Thuksay Tshungmed Tashi Tenzin laid the foundation of
the monastery using the same treasure Golden Dragger, revealed by Dorji Lingpa from
lake Tshomo Umteng, which was in his possession. He used the same treasure golden
dragger to consecrate the ground.

The monastery was managed by layman and yogi team since then who were taught on
Dorji Lingpa teachings and practices and rituals by the successive lineage holders and
senior yogis.
