After listing these abbreviations learners will state what they mean in full. The teacher will
then ask learners the difference between acronyms and abbreviations.
The teacher will then give a proper explanation between acronyms and abbreviation. He
will show the learners the difference. The teacher will provide the learners with the
difference between the two.
He will use the following examples:
1. AIDS
2. NASA
3. UNICEF
The teacher will ask learners to state the difference between the two in order to see if the
learners are following up with the discussion. He will ask learners to write it down in their
own words to share with the rest of the class.
The teacher will move to the next topic of the lesson which will address synonyms and
the teacher will ask learners to define the term. He will also give the learners his own
definition about the concept of the synonyms. Learners will be given an opportunity to
share their own thoughts.
The teacher will give the learners list of the reasons why we should be using synonyms.
He will show the learners that synonyms can be used to simplify messages and avoids
