ANNUAL APPEAL
Born and raised in Maine many years ago, I was fortunate to have parents who were extremely active
in the Greater Portland Jewish community. TBE was not just our community; it was our family, and it
played an immeasurable role in shaping who I am today. Two decades after packing up for college and
leaving Maine, I returned to my hometown with my husband and 3 young children.
We brought with us hopes and dreams of recreating that same experience for our children, and were
thankful to discover the opportunity right back here at TBE. The welcome we have felt after returning
to TBE is overwhelming! After all these years, TBE continues to be a rock that sustains and builds
Jewish values, culture, and tradition, through:
• Weekday, Shabbat & Holiday services
• Family programming
• Jewish educational opportunities for all ages
• Community celebrations
• Social justice initiatives
• Outreach & Yad L'Yad - member care
• Visits and comfort to those in a time of need
TBE is a warm, vibrant community that we are so excited to share with our children as they grow.
This is why my family and I will be giving to the High Holiday Annual Appeal. I hope you will, too. Every
donation makes a difference; each gift touches lives and strengthens our congregation and community.
Please make your gift by visiting tbemaine.org and donating online, or by returning this card to
the Temple office. Thank you for your generous support to make all of this possible. L’shanah tova
u’metukah! Wishing you and your family a good, sweet—and healthy —new year.
