Education & Training Cluster
Introduction to Teaching
Introduction to Teaching I prepares students for
employment and post-secondary opportunities in the
education field. The program provides students with
the opportunity to explore cutting-edge 21st century
instructional technology. Students will also learn about
the foundations of education, human growth and
development, learning and environment, planning and
instruction, collaborative relationships, and Education and
Training career pathways. Employability skills are integrated
throughout the coursework. Participation in the student
organization Family, Careers, and Community Leaders of
America (FCCLA) greatly enhances the learning experience.
(Prerequisite: n/a)
Introduction to Teaching II prepares students for employment
and post-secondary opportunities in the education field.
Students build on skills and concepts covered in Introduction
to Teaching I. The program will provide students with
opportunities to practice using 21st century instructional
technology. Clinical experiences will provide students with
practical, firsthand experience in education.
(Prerequisite: Introduction to Teaching I)
