38. BERŽĖNAI MANOR
The manor that belonged to the families
of counts Čapskiai, noblemen Šemetos,
Gorskiai has been mentioned since the
15th century. The owners of the manor
built neo-gothic manor buildings that
have survived to the present day as well
as planted the park and dug ponds. The
manor was famous for its luxuriously
furnished interiors and abundant col-
lections of works of art.

39. PAGRYŽUVYS MANOR
The romantic style Pagryžuvys ma-
nor-house was built in 1858 according
to the design of the then famous archi-
tect F. Rimgaila. At the end of the 18th
century, Pagryžuvys manor belonged
to noblemen Šemetos; later, to the Pše-
ciševskiai family. After World War I, the
manor was nationalized and given to
Jesuits. Until World War II, the Jesuit
monastery operated in the manor.
