30 30 RADVILIŠKIS DISTRICT
The land of Radviliškis is rich in manors of exceptional architecture with impressive
parks adorned with sculptures of historical personalities, tree alleys breathing with ref-
reshment and mystery, and fields with as many as over 460 tulip species. The mounds of
the district, eight in total, braided with legends and stories, invite you to discover the tre-
asures hidden in their slopes. New bicycle routes, educational hiking trails, workshops
presenting ethnic culture traditions – all of it is waiting for you here, in a peculiar and

48. THE WOODEN BELFRY OF
RADVILIŠKIS ST VIRGIN MARY’S NATIVITY CHURCH
The belfry built in 1878 is a
unique architectural monu-
ment of Radviliškis town, de-
corated with unique folk art
decorative elements. Burnt twi-
ce and both times restored by
believers’ efforts and sacrifices,
the five-story wooden belfry ri-
ses higher than the roof of the
city’s church. Today, it stands
proudly at the parish house of
prayer and is the first to greet
everyone who enters the chur-
chyard.
