Educational sessions-tastings of the pride of the culinary herita-
ge of the Semigallian land: dumplings (rye dumplings with fried
lardon and sauerkraut), cheese (5 types), zaptė (jam), ham and
bacon, fruit sweets, homemade barley beer, homemade wine
(cherry, apple, black currant), teas from the herbs collected at
the foot of Žvelgaitis mound, sap (fresh in spring and fermented
in other seasons). The price is negotiable; duration, up to 2 hours.

PILGRIMES’ GIRA
Gira is a soft drink produced by fermentation from rye
bread, fruits, berries, caraway, and other food pro-
ducts. Lithuanians used to produce and drink many
kinds of gira. There are over 100 original recipes of
gira that date back as far as the 16th century.
The educational program “Pilgrims’ gira” includes the
presentation of 5 different types of homemade gira,
which distinguish themselves by their taste, history,
and the way of delivering the educational program.
Delicious gira, tasks, cheerful and professional educa-
tors “pilgrims” are waiting for you.
