We really do not lack the beauty of nature – Lake Talk-
ša and Prūdelis lie nearly in the very middle of the city,
and the city is neighboured by huge Lake Rėkyva (the
country’s tenth largest), occupying the area of over a
thousand hectares, which has been swashing its water
for even more than ten thousand years. The lake is
alive both in winter and in summer, sails constantly
flutter here: in the warm weather, yachts spread their
sails on the lake, giving the lake grandeur and peace,
and in winter, the solid ice of the lake is tested by ice
sled enthusiasts flying at high speed, having harnessed
wind blowing in their colourful sails.

JURAKALNIS GEOLOGICAL EDUCATIONAL TRAIL
We invite you walk along Jurakalnis geological edu-
cational trail. The trail equipped according to modern
requirements, beginning at Simonas Daukantas’ mu-
seum, curves to Jurakalnis ravine outcrop and spur,
encompassing Papilė I mound, a viewing platform,
and a tower.
