“Can’t Dispute Online?”
1. If an error message occurs when attempting to dispute online, a letter
must be mailed to the credit bureau.
2. Complete Round 1 letters by filling in creditor details
Provide Credit Bureaus:
❑ Copy of ID/DL/Passport with current address
❑ Signed copy of social security card (if you have)
Additional Supporting documents:
❑ Recent bill with current address (if ID isn’t updated with current address)
❑ Police report* (if experienced stolen purse, stolen personal information or identity theft)
Round 1 letters mailed:
1. Print each letter and hand write explanation beside each account
(use Dispute Explanation Chart above)
2. Sign all letters
3. Send letters certified mail
(Cost $3.55-$4.10/letter - no return receipt)
4. Record and maintain tracking information on “Tracking Log”
Waiting Game...
Bureaus have 30 days to respond & verify debt with creditors.
Wait to receive response from all bureaus. 1 of 2 things will happen, the credit items will
fall off your report or the credit bureau will respond stating the items have been verified.
Don’t worry, this is just the beginning. :-)
