What if I can’t dispute online?
“Cleaning Up Your Personal Information” is the first stage of disputes. This
stage should be completed online. However, if the information cannot be
disputed online, use the “Cleaning Up Personal Information” letter, which is
sent to all three bureaus.
❑ Round letters are only sent if items were unable to be disputed online.
❑ Cleaning Up Your Personal Information letters go to the creditors or
bureaus.
❑ Each credit bureau may have different accounts or personal
information; be sure to send each bureau a letter with the information
from their specific report.
❑ Make a list of the information that couldn’t be disputed online for each
bureau, be sure to keep each list separate.
❑ If you are able to successfully dispute everything attempted online, a
letter does not have to be sent.
