Change DI

1. Turn off the ignition switch. Put the transmission in neutral position and activate the parking brake.
2. Disconnect the cable of battery negative pole EG
3. Dismount the radio cassette player (refer to “Chapter EL electric system-electric parts- audio
system-radio cassette player, replacement”)

4. Remove the left A-pillar trim (refer to “Chapter BW Vehicle Body- Exterior trims- Side wall interior

panel, Replacement”)

5. Dismount the instrument panel (refer to "Chapter BW body-instrument panel, combination

instrument, ashtray- instrument panel, replacement”)

6. Removing the telescopic antenna

a. Remove the fixing screws from the telescopic antenna.

b. Disconnect the connection between the telescopic antenna

and the antenna feeder. Remove the telescopic antenna

assembly.

7. Check the telescopic antenna if following failures are present. Replace the telescopic antenna if
necessary.

a. The telescopic antenna is broken.
b. The telescopic antenna is bent.
c. The telescopic antenna is rusty.

8. Installing the telescopic antenna
a. Put the telescopic antenna into place. Connect the telescopic antenna to the antenna feeder.
b. Tighten the fixing screws for the telescopic antenna.

9. Install the instrument panel (refer to Chapter BW body-instrument panel, combination instrument,
ashtray-instrument panel, replacement”)
10. Install the radio cassette player (refer to Chapter EL electric system- electrical elements–audio
system- speaker, replacement)
11. Install the left Column A guard plate (refer to Chapter BW body- windshield, window glass-
interior & exterior trim –side wall inner shield, replacement)

12. Connect the cable of battery negative pole
