Check if the result is ok? IN
Yes>go to Step 5.

NO>repair or replace the harness. DI
5. Check the wire harness and connector between exhaust brake relay and engine ECU

a. Ignition switch: LOCK. EG
b. Disconnect the connector F099 of engine ECU.

c. Use a multimeter to measure the resistance between 54#

and 75# terminals of engine ECU connectorF099.
Standard resistance: AX

Multimeter connecting terminal Standard value
FR
F099(54)-F099(75) About 83Ω

ST

Check if the result is ok? BR
Yes>go to Step 6.

NO>repair or replace the harness. BW
6. Check the exhaust brake solenoid valve.

a. Ignition switch: LOCK. EL
b. Disconnect the connector F023 of exhaust braking solenoid valve.

c. Use a multimeter to measure the conductivity between 1#
and 2# terminals of exhaust brake valve connector F023.
Standard resistance:

Multimeter connecting terminal Standard value

F023(1)-F023(2) Conduction

Check if the result is ok?
Yes>go to Step 7.

No>Repair or replace the exhaust brake valve.
