DI - 380             Diagnosis - Diagnosis-fault diagnosis of electronic and electrical parts

              Exhaust brake fault


              Overview

              Exhaust brake is use the engine exhaust brake as auxiliary brake to relieve the brake heat fade due to frequent
              use  of  foot  brake.  To  some  extent,  it  can  prevent  the  engine  being  driven  to  rotate  at  overspeed  and  can
              prolong the service life of friction plate.
              Precautions

              1. Before dismounting or installing any electric device as well as the naked electric terminals can be
              contacted  by  tools  or  equipments,  first  to  disconnect  the  cable  of  battery  negative  pole  to  prevent
              personal injury or vehicle damage.
              2. Without special instruction, must switch off the ignition switch.
              3. Disconnecting the cable of battery negative pole will make the day mileage meter and clock in the
              combination instrument reset. However, the total odometer will not be reset.

              4.Ignition switch:

                  Ignition switch (position)                     Ignition switch description

                          LOCK              Switch off the ignition system,

                                            Parking control. Power the electric equipment when the vehicle stops, such as the radio
                          ACC
                                            cassette player, cigar-lighter, etc.
                                            At  drive  gear  control,  connect  the  electric  equipments  for  vehicle  driving,  such  as
                           ON
                                            instruments, etc.

                         START              Start gear, the engine starts, and it automatically retreats to the driving gear "ON" gear
