62-160 DIAGNOSIS-WIPER AND WASHING SYSTEM

Is the inspection result normal?
Yes>To step 5.
No >Repair or replace the harness relating to the connection.

5. Check the harness and the connector (the front wiper low-speed relay-BCM control unit)

(a). Ignition switch:"LOCK".

(b). Disconnect the front wiper low-speed relay
R10.
(c). Disconnect the BCM control unit connector
C57.
(d). Measure the resistance between the No.1
pin of R10 and the No.23 pin of C57 with
the multimeter on the resistance range.
Standard resistance: (check whether there
is an open circuit)

Connect the pin by
multimeter Specified value
R10(1)-C57(23) ＜ 2Ω

Is the inspection result normal?
Yes>To step 6.
No >Repair or replace the harness relating to the connection.

6. Check the combination switch (Wiper)

(a). Ignition switch:"LOCK".
(b). Fit a wiper switch cluster which functions normally, and connect the vehicle
diagnoser to the vehicle diagnosis interface.
(c). Ignition switch: “ON”, use the vehicle diagnoser to read DTC and observe the
vehicle symptoms.

Check if the trouble code exists?
Yes>To step 7.
No >Replace the combination switch.

7. Check harness and connector (combination switch-BCM control unit)

(a). Ignition switch:"LOCK".
