05-20 VEHICLE MAINTENNANCE - CHECK
CHECK ACCESSORY BELT
1 . Switch off the ignition.
2 . Open the engine hood.
3 . Check for breakage and aging sign on the
accessory belt and replace it if needed.
NOTICE

• If the belt has a horizontal (width direction
) crack at the arrow A can be accepted, no
need to change the belt.
• If the belt has a longitudinal crack crossing
with the transverse crack at the arrow B
or the belt wear and missing at the arrow
C is unacceptable, the belt need to be
replaced.
• The damage to the belt may be caused by:
• Incorrect tension.
• Incorrect size and length.
• Pulley is not alignment.
• Incorrect installation.
• Poor working conditions
• The belt has oil or lubrication grease
on the side.
NOTICE
• Water or grease on the belt will quickly reduce its service life. If there is serious
oil mark on the belt, replace it with a new one instead of washing.
• If there is oil mark on the belt, check for oil and fluid leakage in the engine.
4 . Restore the engine hood.
