DIAGNOSIS-SUPPLEMENTAL INFLATABLE RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) 62-13

6. Check clock spring short circuit to the power supply

(a). Confirm to turn ignition switch off, and disconnect battery terminal negative for more
than 90s.
(b). Disconnect the the clock spring connector C18.
(c). Disconnect ignition switch connector C13. 62

(d). Check the resistance valuebetween clock
spring connector C18 and No.6 pin of
ignition switch C13.
Standard resistance: (check whether there
is a short circuit)

Connect by Standard value
multimeter
C18(1) - C13(6) ≥ 1MΩ

C18(2) - C13(6) ≥ 1MΩ

Is the inspection result normal?
Yes>To step 7.
No >Repair or replace the harness.

7. Check driver SRS

(a). Confirm to turn ignition switch off, and disconnect battery terminal negative for more
than 90s.
(b). Replace with a new driver SRS.
(c). Connect vehicle diagnostic device, and read DTC trouble code under all working
conditions.

Check if the trouble code exists?
Yes>To step 8.
No >Replace with a new driver SRS.

8. Check SRS control unit

(a). Confirm to turn ignition switch off, and disconnect battery terminal negative for more
than 90s.
(b). Replace with a new SRS control unit.
(c). Connect vehicle diagnostic device, and read DTC trouble code under all working
conditions.

Check if the trouble code exists?
Yes>Find the causes from other symptoms.
No >Replace with a new SRS control unit.
