                 Description

1 . The engine control module (ECM) provides a 5V power to the engine camshaft
speed / position sensor through the sensor power circuit. The ECM also provides
a ground to the sensor circuit. The camshaft speed / position sensor provides
a signal to the ECM via the camshaft speed / position sensor signal circuit. When
the camshaft speed sensor indication lobe turned, the sensor generates a signal
and sent it to ECM.The ECM identifies the signal and converts it to an engine
speed reading, then determines the engine position. If the main engine crankshaft
speed / position signal is missing, the sensor will be used as a backup sensor.
