TITLE The Impacts of Operational Environment in the Globalization Era
on Organizational Change in Agricultural Products Exporting
Companies of Thailand

ABSTRACT

At present, economics, politics, technology, society and culture are
linked as the world has no boundary between the country or it can be called
“Globalization era”, the exporting businesses especially agricultural businesses
have to face with extremely different operational environments. Therefore, they

have to adapt and change themselves in order to survive and compete with
local and international markets. Thus, the researcher conducted a study of the
impacts of operational environment in the globalization era on organizational
change in agricultural products exporting companies of Thailand by collecting

data from 257 Thailand agricultural products exporting companies managers
obtained by the stratified random sampling technique and using a questionnaire
as an instrument. The statistics used for analyzing the collected data were F-test,
a correlation analysis, and a multiple regression analysis.

The findings revealed that the exporting companies managers agreed
with having operational environment in the globalization era as a whole at a
high level. When each aspects are considered, the exporting companies

managers agreed with having product variety, changing standard of raw material,
increasing technology support, increasing global competition and changing skill
level of worker at a high level while they agreed with having great difficulty
estimating aggregate demand and having great difficulty in distribution at a
moderate level. The exporting companies managers agreed with having

organizational change as a whole and in each of these aspects at a high level
; demise of command-and-control, emphasis on teamwork, pre-eminence of
technology, embraces of networking and new work process.
