Fixing the problems!
Many beginners experience trouble with getting chords to sound good. Usually the problem can
be fixed by paying attention to: Thumb placement; Finger placement; Finger pressure and the way
you arch your fingers.
Finger Placement
Slide your fingers as close to the frets as possible.
Thumb Placement
To give your fingers the support they need your
thumb should be positioned so that it can push
back against your fingers.
Finger Pressure
Press down firmly and evenly with each finger
used.
Arched Fingers
You want a small, but precise area of the string
under your finger. Use only the tips and make
sure your fingers are bent at each joint.
Don’t get discouraged if your chords don’t sound perfect at first. It takes time to build up
finger strength and dexterity.
