Black Women’s Expo FAQ:
1. Location of the event:: McCormick Place Convention Center, NORTH HALL,
C-1, 2301 S. King Drive, Chicago, IL 60616
2. Where is parking located and what is the reimbursement policy?
The parking location recommended by BWE is Lot C at Lakeside Center - there is
an overhead walkway to get to North Hall. The other lot, Lot A, appears to be full
but they can try day of event to see if it is open - address: 24th Place & Martin
Luther King, Jr. Drive for Lot A. The parking is $36/day. There is cheaper parking
using Spot Hero and Park Whiz apps.
3. How will we be reimbursed for food or parking?
AARP Illinois will reimburse for parking. Please keep your receipts and submit a
ticket for reimbursement. If you use the Volunteer Portal then you can submit your
expense there using the code
4. How do we retrieve tickets or entry into the Exhibit Hall C-1?
Access (tickets) to the exhibit hall for Fri., Sat., and Sun will be obtained onsite.
Please meet our Event Manager at the top of the stairs near Starbucks right outside
Hall C-1; contact Dana Anderson at 773-640-4413 or Alisa Joseph at 704-222-7758.
5. What should we wear?
AARP volunteers should wear red AARP t-shirts. For those that don’t have t-shirts
you can connect with staff and/or obtain shirts at the venue. Please provide a t-shirt
size to Laurinda Dodgen if you do not have a red AARP t-shirt.
6. Where is the booth located? What entrance is the best/closest entrance?
The AARP booth number is 214. It is near Jewel (316), Colgate (415), T-Mobile
(308), Chicago Sky (221), PNC (315). The exhibit hall is in McCormick Place North
- Hall C1 – there is only entrance into the exhibit hall. Meeting Place provided (4).
7. What happens if we cannot reach a staffer prior to our shift? Who do we call?

8. What time should we be there?
You should be there 15-20 minutes before your shift begins.
