Hedgehog
7.22 Habitats within the Site and surrounding area provide foraging and sheltering opportunities for
hedgehog.
Birds
7.23 No Schedule 1 birds are expected to nest within the Site.
7.24 The Site includes relatively small areas of dense scrub which provides suitable nesting habitat for
common and widespread bird species, as well as those listed as Red and Amber within the Birds of
Conservation Concern, such as song thrush and dunnock. In addition, birds could also nest within the
log-piles on Site.
7.25 Although unlikely, given the habitats present and relatively small area of the Site, there is potential
for ground nesting birds, such as meadow pipit, to nest within the open, tussocky areas of grassland
within the Site.
Reptiles
Presence / absence survey
7.26 A peak count of four adult common lizards was recorded within the Site (see Table 5 below). The
majority of individuals were recorded within the north-western corner of the Site, associated with a
short section of bund.
7.27 A small number of individuals were recorded within the central portion of the Site, with a peak count
of one adult within this area.

predominantly recorded within the north-western corner of the Site on a short section of bund, which
provides shelter and basking habitat.
