Great crested newts
7.29 Data obtained from KRAG include one record of great crested newt, approximately 1km north-east of
the Site in 1999. According to Magic Map, there are no active or historic EPSM Licences within 2km
of the Site.
7.30 Habitats within the Site, including tussocky grassland and dense scrub, provide moderate suitability
for great crested newts.
7.31 There are no waterbodies present within the Site and according to the relevant OS maps and aerial
images, there are no waterbodies within 250m of the Site boundaries. Therefore, no further survey
work or mitigation is recommended for great crested newt.
Invertebrates
7.32 The Site provides areas of suitable habitat, including dense blackthorn scrub and tussocky grassland
to support a range of common and widespread invertebrates. Protected or rare invertebrates are
unlikely to be present within the site. No further survey work or mitigation is recommended for
invertebrates.
Flora
7.33 Due to the location and past and present management of the site, the areas of habitat are unlikely to
support protected plant species.
7.34 No evidence of Schedule 9 plants was found during the site survey.
7.35 No further survey work or mitigation is recommended for flora.
