Orientation

Our new-student orientation is a self-paced course that takes approximately 40
minutes to complete. It does not have to be completed in one sitting. You can stop,
come back and pick up where you last left off.

How to Access the Online Orientation

You will be able to access the online orientation by logging into Canvas. First, you will need to
create a password in WebAdvisor.

Step 1: Log into and Create a password

WebAdvisor User ID
First initial and last name followed by the last 5 digits of you Student ID number
Initial Password
Your date of birth in six-digit format: two number s for the month, two numbers for the year and two
number for the year. (March 1, 1998 = 030198).

Example
Name: Justin Timberlake & Student ID number:0252345
WebAdvisor User ID: jtimberlake52345 Initial Password: 030198

Go to mynvc.napavalley.edu

1) Click on WebAdvisor

2) Click on Login (Top right)

Enter your User ID and Password
Take the online orientation session
3) Your password will expire and you
will be prompted to create a new pass-
Complete an Online Orientation
word. Note that your old password is the
temporary password.
4) Your “New Password” needs to con-
tain 6 to 9 characters (no dashes, no
spaces), and must contain both letters
and numbers (Examples: bho1961 OR
2010NVC).
