1.0 Background of Core Values

Core values are an essential element in
an organisation and are the driving force
               of excellent, professional, and corporate
work culture. In line with this, the university

is committed to producing staff who
are not only high performing but also
               possess admirable personalities. Staff with
               outstanding personality ordinarily is capable
of accomplishing assigned tasks and duties
               effectively.

To ensure each core value is embraced by all staff, the
university has made it a condition and a key indicator in the
staff’s Yearly Performance Assessment Management. This
initiative has been one of the key agendas in the implementation
16 of UM Strategic Plan 2021-2025.
Among the objectives of the Yearly Performance Assessment
based on 360° core values are as Figure 1.0.

By utilising this type of 360° performance assessment, the
University is able to gather feedback from team members, co-
workers and input from inside as well as outside UM. Besides,
this will help the University to fully understand the level of
performance of every staff member at the workplace.

The University Management has decided and agreed to
improve the existing performance assessment system by
using the assessment method based on P.O.I.S.E Core Values
               (henceforth NTP), starting from 2021.

The main aim of introducing the NTP initiative is to produce a
flexible assessment system, which is based on a quality and
reward system. This implementation involves all staff categories
for NTP to be put into practice in fulfilling the University’s needs.
