7.0 Summary
By cultivating P.O.I.S.E Core Values that have been incorporated in the
performance assessment starting in 2021, we hope to form a quality work
culture, which is in line with the implementation of UM Transformation Plan
2021-2030 and UM Strategic Plan 2021-2025. The cultivation of these
values will produce UM staff, who are efficient, visionary, dynamic and
possess a first-class mindset, and are capable of making significant, high
impact contributions to the nation and the world.
In driving organisational It is hoped that the P.O.I.S.E Core
excellence, the university definitely Values Performance Management
needs excellent and quality staff, book will be a guide and reference
who not only are able to perform for other Public Universities
daily duties but also possess (UA), statutory bodies, central
outstanding personalities and agencies such as Public Service
practice positive values. The Department Malaysia and Ministry
university is also committed of Higher Education.

development through soft skills
and spiritual programmes so that
this aspiration can be achieved.
As staff are intermediaries in
providing services directly and
indirectly to all stakeholders,
it is the University’s intention
to produce excellent staff.
This P.O.I.S.E Core Values
Performance Management book
is for all UM members; namely,
UM Top management, academic,
executive and operational staff.
These improvements are well
received, appreciated and applied
collectively by all UM members.
Commitment from staff of all
levels is very important in ensuring
the success of UM Transformation
Plan 2021-2030 and UM Strategic
Plan 2021-2025 by cultivating
core values; namely, Passion,
Oneness, Integrity, Sincerity,
Empathy (P.O.I.S.E).
